Flossie White Room
We will try and alert you if the Town is using the room for a meeting.
The Search Committee (Jeannie Theodore, Terri DeLano, Elsie Orrell, Spring Allen, and Linda Hammar) is working hard on finding us a new venue for the quilt show. An update will be given at the January or February meeting.
At the Christmas luncheon some announcements were made:
1. Outgoing President, Mary Glance, thanked everyone who helped her during her 2-year term. Mary’s Past President quilt blocks are 9-1/2″ unfinished 1930’s repo fabrics with backgounds of unbleached muslin. Thank you, Mary!
2. Donna Sharp received a $400 donation for postage for the Quilts for Heroes. Andrea Tilmont gave out some kits that were cut during the last sewing session.
3. The members voted to have another shipment of Quilts for Heroes go to Germany in spring, 2016 as more soldiers are coming home every day.
4. Sheryl Lentini gave out some kits for the backing of the 2016 theme quilt.
Reminder: 2016 THEME QUILT SALES: There are several applications for local festivals in the High Country email file. (Please volunteer this year for this opportunity to meet new people and work with other Guild members).

QUILTS FOR HEROES – Donna Sharpe Dec. 20, 2015
Congratulations to everyone who worked on our Quilts for Heroes for 2015. They were sent out early this year and were received before Thanksgiving. Received an email November 26, 2015 in time for the Thanksgiving flight home. Seems like the 26th is our luck number. Last year Christmas Eve 26 came back Christmas Day!
Thank you & all of our quilters for your continued support & kindness. I hope we can keep it going.
Having received 3 donations this past week of $460 to help with postage & supplies. Also. Dec. 18th got a phone call-that’s another surprise later on, want to wait until they arrive.
With the spring shipment dead line is April 20th. There is batting and some backing at the F.W. All finished quilts due the end of April, so I can get them out before leaving. Will take pictures of the spring donations & have them enlarged for show & tell at the fall show.
Several have started cutting & sorting fabrics in the cupboards. Kits are being put together, plus binding strips. Notice: as long as we have the F.W.room every 2nd and 4th Thurs we’ll meet 10-2 to finish up the cutting & pass out kits. A lot can be used for Q4 H. Don’t forget your lunch.
Looks like we’ll have a wonderful start for 2016. Thanks to kind hearts across the country.
Thanking you again.
