Challenge Quilts

Challenge Quilts showing off childhood games will be the Sept. meeting.  Those games chosen so far are: jacks, jumping on the bed. Hop scotch, checkers, jump rope, red rover, pick-up-sticks, leap frog, dominos, paper dolls, ring around the rosy, old maid, Chinese checkers, let’s pretend, go fish, monopoly.

Please see Jeanne Theodore to add your game to the list.  If it is a duplicate, no worry because your creativity will make the quilt different.  Size is no smaller than 12″ and no longer than 24″ only because we have limited space to display these during the Oct. Quilt Show. Have fun!  We will share our stories at the Sept. meeting.

The Quilt Show of 2017

Thursday October 12- 12:00 pm-4:00pm,

Friday October 13- 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and

Saturday October 14- 10:00 am-4:00 pm

The Quilt Show of 2017 will again be held at The first Baptist Church in Maggie Valley.  This year we will be using the adjacent building in the back as well as the one we used last year.  We would like to hang 80-100 beautiful  quilts as we did last year so get busy with your plans for your entries. Our visitors were delighted last year with the fantastic quilts you  made so carefully showing the amazing talent that our quilters have. For the new members I plan to have a big sister available to answer questions to make you feel comfortable for entering your quilts in the show.  The dates and times  for the show are Thursday October 12- 12:00 pm-4:00pm, Friday October 13- 10:00 am – 4:00PM and Saturday October 14- 10:00 am-4:00 pm. We will again be setting up the quilt gallery on Wednesday October 11 from 8:00pm- 10:00 pm with the quilt racks and on Thursday am from 7:30-11:00 for the quilt hanging.  As always we will need everyone to pitch in and help make this a successful quilt show as we did last year.

The vendors will be in the adjacent building with 2 possible ones in with the quilts.  I am busy sending out invitations to some vendors to enhance the show.

Quilt show entry forms are available if you email terrelljan59@yahoo.com and I will a have some at the May meeting.

For any questions or concerns please email Jan Hartmann at terrelljan59@yahoo.com or call me at 727-364-8995..  After May 1st I plan to be in Maggie Valley and have my home phone turned on at 828-926-5318.

I hope everyone is well and ready to QUIL,<QYILT,QUILT!!!!
